Liability Disclaimer
Last updated · 30 May 2026
This Liability Disclaimer applies to all content on hackastra.com and any communication through the Hackastra incident response channel or paid engagement provided by HACKASTRA INFOSEC L.L.C-FZ ("Hackastra").
1. No guarantee of outcomes
Cyber incidents are uncertain by nature. Hackastra does not guarantee any specific outcome, including but not limited to: recovery of data, restoration of systems, removal of a threat actor, identification or attribution of attackers, prevention of future incidents, prevention of reputational or financial harm, or the success of take-down, negotiation, or law-enforcement actions. Any timelines, response windows, or indicative outcomes referenced on the Site (including median first-response times) are best-effort estimates based on past engagements and are not contractual guarantees.
2. Not legal, regulatory, or insurance advice
Hackastra provides cyber incident response and operational guidance. Nothing on the Site or in the channel constitutes legal advice, regulatory advice, or insurance advice. Where you need a legal opinion (for example, regarding breach notification obligations under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 or other applicable laws), please consult qualified counsel in your jurisdiction.
3. Not law enforcement
Hackastra is a private practice. We are not police, prosecutors, or any governmental authority and have no power to compel third parties. With your instruction we may coordinate with relevant authorities; we will not do so without your consent.
4. No attorney–client or fiduciary relationship
Opening a channel or exchanging messages with Hackastra does not create an attorney–client relationship, agency, fiduciary relationship, or any other special duty beyond those expressly set out in a signed engagement letter.
5. Third-party content
The Site may reference third-party services, infrastructure providers, or attacker platforms for illustrative purposes. Hackastra does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party content or services.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, Hackastra's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Services is capped at the fees actually paid for the relevant engagement, as further set out in our Terms of Service. Hackastra is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages.
7. Refund policy
Initial triage through the channel is free. Engagement fees, once invoiced and paid, are non-refundable except where specifically agreed in writing within the engagement letter. We will in good faith resolve billing disputes raised in writing within thirty (30) days of an invoice.
